Proud Box joins Baystone’s HKJC winning list
Proud Box is a Baystone Farm breeze-up
Baystone Farm’s run of success in Hong Kong continued on Sha Tin’s latest Sunday program when Proud Box ran out an emphatic winner over 1400m in Class 4 company.
Trained by Chris So and ridden Harry Bentley, Proud Box led from the outset and turned for home still dictating the pace before putting a clear gap on his rivals and never appearing likely to be caught over the closing stages.
The son of Pariah ultimately crossed the finishing line with three lengths to spare over his nearest rival, running the smart overall time of 1m21.04s.
One prominent Hong Kong racing platform described the performance by stating: “Proud Box led and never looked back for a comfortable first win at his eighth start. He had always shown hints of ability.”
Proud Box was a member of Baystone Farm’s 2023 Inglis Ready2Race Sale draft. The gelding was offered as Lot 74 and secured by TWA Racing P/L for $100,000.
The current Hong Kong Jockey Club racing season has seen a series of wins recorded by Baystone Farm alumni. Proud Box follows Run Run Sunrise, a Sha Tin winner in March, as well as Glaciated and Beauty Missile in very recent time. All four are graduates of the farm’s ‘ready-to-run’ program and are now 2025-26 season winners in Asia’s major thoroughbred racing centre.
