Invincible Shield continues Sha Tin winning sequence
Baystone Farm alumni posts hat-trick of wins
Baystone Farm alumni Invincible Shield completed a hat-trick of wins in his first Hong Kong preparation when saluting on the major international program staged at Sha Tin on Sunday 27 April.
Ridden by visiting jockey Craig Williams and stretched out to 1400m, the 4-year-old son of I Am Invincible traveled like the winner from a very early stage in the contest and gamely responded to the urgings of his Aussie partner to record his third straight win for trainer Francis Lui.
Invincible Shield has now won three of four starts in Hong Kong, having also put together a sequence of four unbeaten runs for champion Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan when trained in Australia. Combined, the entire son of ‘Vinnie’ has a career race record which presently reads seven wins at 1110m-1400m from 11 starts.
Invincible Shield was bought by Baystone Farm out of the Yarraman Park Stud consignment offered at the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
Sunday’s triple Group 1 program staged at Sha Tin also witnessed an excellent second by another Baystone Farm graduate in the form of Call Me Glorious. The 4-year-old son of No Nay Never (Ire) attempted to lead all of the way in a quality 1200m contest but was caught close to the line after looking the winner halfway down the straight.
Invincible Shield and Call Me Glorious are flying the flag for Baystone Farm in Hong Kong where other promising graduates include recent trial winner Glaciated amongst others.
